Photo Doc. 2026 Brings 19 Independent Documentary Photographers to Hôtel de l'Industrie

Photo Doc. returns to the Hôtel de l'Industrie in Paris from October 9 to 12, 2026, for its third consecutive edition in the venue's salons. The fair will host nineteen independent documentary photographers who exhibit without gallery representation and sell their prints directly. This year's theme is "gratitude," subtitled "an alliance with the living," reflecting a deliberate shift away from the cold objectivity of traditional reportage toward intimate, personal perspectives and the relationship between viewer and subject. The event opens Friday at 2pm, with a vernissage from 6pm to 10pm attended by all participating photographers. On Sunday, October 11 at 3pm, the Parlement des photographes will hold a debate on contemporary documentary practice. On Monday, October 12, the Malle des Bicentenaires will collect prints for a time capsule intended to be reopened in a century. The fair takes place as photography celebrates its two-hundredth anniversary. Admission is free. Opening hours are Friday 2pm–10pm, Saturday and Sunday 11am–8pm, and Monday 11am–7pm. The venue is located at 4 place Saint-Germain-des-Prés, 75006 Paris, near the Saint-Germain-des-Prés metro station (line 4).
