PHOF – Mallorca PhotoFest Launches with International Photography Program

The first edition of PHOF – Mallorca PhotoFest, a project by Art Palma Contemporani, transforms Mallorca into a widespread platform for contemporary photography over four months. The festival spans Palma and numerous island centers, featuring exhibitions, public talks, educational activities, guided tours, and professional meetings. Key shows include Yu Depeng's 'Diario de un ermitaño' at Fundació Barceló, presenting video installations that blend Chinese pictorial tradition with contemporary languages. At Fundación Juan March, a retrospective of Cristóbal Hara's early black-and-white work from the 1970s in Cuenca includes the historical project '15 Instant Tales' with student-written stories. Jean-Marie del Moral's exhibition at Fundació Miró Mallorca explores memory and landscape through images of Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso's studios in Mont-roig and Horta de Sant Joan.
