Peter Simon's $172M Art Collection with Picasso and Mondrian Heads to Christie's

Peter Simon, a British entrepreneur and art enthusiast, is set to auction his collection, "Monsoon: The Peter Simon Collection," at Christie's London, with an estimated value between £87 million and £127 million ($118 million to $172 million). This event will take place on October 14 and 15 during Frieze Week, comprising three separate auctions featuring nearly 200 pieces. Among the prominent artists represented are Francis Bacon, Piet Mondrian, and Andy Warhol. Key highlights include Bacon's Figure in Movement (1978), valued at £14 million to £18 million, and Mondrian's Composition A (1935), estimated at £8 million to £12 million. Katharine Arnold from Christie's described the collection as "dynamic," indicating its importance in the art market.
