Perth July 2026 Theatre Guide: Circus, Puppetry, and Anne Frank Return

Perth's July 2026 theatre season features five major productions. CircusWA premieres 'Eclipse' at Studio Underground (2-4 July), a contemporary circus piece by Sally Richardson examining the Anthropocene. Spare Parts Puppet Theatre revives 'Rules of Summer' (4-18 July at Claremont Showgrounds), an immersive adaptation of Shaun Tan's book. 'Same Time Next Week' (9-18 July), an award-winning puppet musical about Dungeons & Dragons and leukemia, plays at Studio Underground. Drew Anthony's production of 'The Diary of Anne Frank' returns to Heath Ledger Theatre (16-26 July), having won BroadwayWorld Awards for Best Play, Best Direction, Best Performer, and Best Supporting Performer. Stray Cat Theatre Company presents a contemporary 'Hamlet' at Fishtrap Theatre, Mandurah (22-26 July), directed by Karen Francis. Additional highlights include 'So It Comes To Dust' at Blue Room Theatre, 'The Gruffalo' touring production, '600 Seconds' short works program, Suzy Eddie Izzard's solo 'Hamlet', 'Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty', 'The Almighty Sometimes', and 'MJ – The Michael Jackson Musical'.
