Pearla Camera App Rebrands as Verana IV, Adds 14-bit RAW Capture
Guy Cassidy, the developer, has rebranded his iPhone camera application Pearla to Pearla Verana IV, now under the Swiss company Pearla Mostra. This app features PearlaRAW, touted as the first and only method for capturing 14-bit RAW photos and videos internally on an iPhone without needing external storage, offering up to 25 fps in 14-bit RAW or 14 fps in 12-bit RAW with pre-capture. Unlike Apple's ProRes RAW, which is 12-bit and requires external storage, ProRAW is limited to 10-bit stills, and Bayer RAW is 12-bit. Additional features include shutter priority mode, intervalometer, and various color calibrations. A companion app, Pearla Joya, will be available in August for $24.99 annually, providing simplified controls while maintaining Verana's quality.
