Paris Internationale Milan Debuts 'Aperto Italia' Day-Long Forum on Italian Contemporary Art Crisis

festival-fair · 2026-04-12

The inaugural Paris Internationale fair will take place at Palazzo Galbani during Milan Art Week, commencing on Saturday, April 18, 2026. An eight-hour dialogue series titled 'Aperto Italia' will run from 11:30 to 19:30, focusing on Italian contemporary art. This program aims to address Italy's historically low representation at the 2026 Venice Biennale and its shortcomings in the World Cup, reflecting systemic vulnerabilities. The format was designed by Massimiliano Gioni of the Nicola Trussardi Foundation, in tribute to Giancarlo Politi. Discussions will feature 21 artists, including Yuri Ancarani and Adrian Paci, with moderation by Nicolas Ballario and Gioni. The fair will be held from April 18-21, showcasing 35 galleries, while MEGA Art Fair will operate from April 15-18.
