Paris Book Festival 2026 at Grand Palais spotlights comics with exhibitions and culinary events

The Festival du Livre de Paris returns to the Grand Palais from April 17 to 19, 2026, featuring 450 publishers. This edition emphasizes comics with two thematic exhibitions on the balcon d'Honneur: 'Le dehors et le dedans: le voyage comme révélateur' and 'Crush! La romance en bande dessinée'. A Friday night nocturne will explore culinary links to literature, with tastings inspired by authors like Erri De Luca and discussions involving Vincent Ferniot, Sidonie Nalis, Ingrid Astier, and Isaline Lannoy. The Village jeunesse is expanded with the Philharmonie des enfants, Maison des histoires, and a Gaston Lagaffe corner. Fourteen countries, including Georgia, will showcase their publishing scenes. Coproduced with the Centre Pompidou, the Cabaret Extra! presents works by Jordan Roger Barré and performances led by drag queen Minima Gesté. The festival, previously held at Porte de Versailles, transformed post-pandemic, moving to the Grand Palais where it began in 1981. The 2025 edition attracted over 114,000 visitors, with nearly 43% under 25, and saw a 33% increase in book sales compared to 2024. Located at 7 Avenue Winston Churchill in Paris, the event aims for intimate encounters between publishers, authors, and the public.
