Paraíso, London's First Latin American Art Fair in a Decade, Opens with Posthumous Felipe Ehrenberg Show
Paraíso, marking the return of Latin American art fairs to London since Pinta's conclusion in 2015, debuted during Frieze week with 22 exhibitors at Ambika P3, located at 35 Marylebone Road. Founded by Javier Calderón, the fair emphasizes Mexican art. A highlight is "Felipe Ehrenberg: 26 Maculate Letters from Mexico | An Unfinished Conversation," showcasing previously unseen mail art by the late artist, curated by Fortunata Calabrò. Initially scheduled for 2016, the event was delayed due to Ehrenberg's health issues, leading to his passing in 2017. Galleries from Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, and Bolivia are represented, offering accessible pricing. The VIP preview on Thursday drew a lively audience. The fair concludes on Sunday, 18 October.
