Orléans Architecture Biennale Explores Solitude Across Six Exhibitions

The Biennale d’Architecture d’Orléans has launched its second edition, named 'Nos années de solitude,' though it opened to a sparse crowd. Curated by Luca Galofaro and Abdelkader Damani, the event showcases six thematic exhibitions alongside additional installations at various locations, including the 12th-century church, Théâtre d'Orléans, and the Frac Centre-Val de Loire. The Frac, founded in the 1980s, boasts a collection of over 13,000 architectural pieces. The exhibitions delve into themes of solitude, featuring retrospectives on architects Fernand Pouillon and Günter Günschel, as well as Frida Escobedo's 'From Solitude to Desolation.' Works by Nora Akawi and Pascale Marthine Tayou are also highlighted. This biennial will continue for 100 days, concluding on January 19.
