Nuejazz Festival 2026: 13th Edition Blends Jazz with Rock, Pop, and Hip-Hop in Nuremberg

festival-fair · 2026-10-13

The 13th Nuejazz Festival will take place in Nuremberg from October 23 to November 15, 2026, continuing its genre-defying mission. The festival, which won the Deutscher Jazzpreis for Festival of the Year in 2024, will present jazz alongside rock, pop, electronic, and hip-hop. The program features both emerging newcomers and established international acts, as well as local artists and music education offerings for all generations. Highlights include a violin meeting electronics, a piano trio with rock, nine trumpeters sharing a stage, and blends of funk, hip-hop, soul, and gospel. Music will also intersect with design and visual art. Top acts include Ki'Luanda, Bill Frisell Trio, Brandee Younger Trio, Gerard Clayton, and the duo David Helbock and Julia Hofer. In 2026, the Nuecomer Award 'Miles & Trane' will be presented as a homage to jazz legends Miles Davis and John Coltrane, who would have turned 100 this year. Organizer Frank Wuppinger states, 'Jazz is music that overcomes cultural and social boundaries.' The festival emphasizes the word 'and': jazz and electronics, music and image, newcomers and world stars, Nuremberg and Europe, concert and education, tradition and the urgent question of what to do with it here and now. Program details and tickets are available online.
