North Carolina Youth Climate Summit Engages Teens Through Art and Science

The Museum of Life and Science hosted the North Carolina Youth Climate Summit on February 18-19, 2024, bringing together over 100 high school students from across the state. The two-day event featured hands-on service projects, workshops, and climate-focused programs including a community art initiative envisioning Durham in 2100. Participants engaged with leaders from organizations like the EPA, universities, and local government, and developed Climate Action Plans. The summit is part of The Wild Center's Youth Climate Summit Network, with another session scheduled for November 2024 at the same venue.
