Nike Kids Campaign Uses Animation to Redefine Sports as Playful Activity in China
Nike has launched a campaign titled 'Just for Fun' aimed at changing perceptions of sports among children in China. The project was directed by MANSON and produced by CANADA, with support from R/GA Shanghai. Studio Bliss handled the animation and motion design elements. The campaign challenges the view of sports in China as strictly competitive by presenting them as enjoyable games. It features live-action footage of children engaging in unconventional activities like playing catch backwards and racing against dogs. These scenes are enhanced with whimsical animations layered over the real footage to create a playful atmosphere. The creative team included Executive Creative Directors Tomás Peña and Gerardo del Hierro, Executive Producer Maria Soler Chopo, and various artists and technicians. The project emphasizes that sports should be seen as fun rather than serious competition for young participants.
