Nicola Costantino Named Guest Artist for ARTESANTANDER 2026

Argentine artist Nicola Costantino (Rosario, 1964) will be the guest artist at the 34th edition of ARTESANTANDER, held July 2–5, 2026 at the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos de Santander. She will present two site-specific projects: "Tortas Costantinopla," an edible art action turning ice cream desserts into ephemeral canvases with audience participation, and "Quiosco de flores," a flower stall selling pieces inspired by plant forms made with ancient Japanese ceramic techniques like nerikomi. The fair, directed by curator Mónica Álvarez Careaga for its third year, will debut a new section called Platforms featuring three emerging initiatives: Espacio Azul Petróleo (Santiago de Chile), MORFO Galería (Madrid), and Art as Experience (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria). The ARTESANTANDER Editorial section returns with six selected participants: sirocomag, Oficina de Fotografía Anónima (led by Raúl Hevia), Nórdica Libros, Fontanar Ediciones, Al-Tiba Contemporary, and Carmen Alonso Libros. The fair has shortened to four days (Thursday to Sunday) and remains free entry, with support from the Government of Cantabria and Santander City Council.
