Nicola Benedetti named first Global Ambassador for Healing Arts at Scotland's largest Healing Arts week

From June 18 to 26, 2026, Scotland hosted Healing Arts Scotland, the largest biannual Healing Arts week worldwide, attracting delegates from around the globe. The National Galleries of Scotland in Edinburgh served as the venue for the National Conference on Thursday, June 18. During this gathering, Nicola Benedetti, the Scottish violinist and Director of the Edinburgh International Festival, was honored as the inaugural Global Ambassador for Healing Arts. The week included prominent events in Shetland, Lewis & Harris, Dumfries & Galloway, and Glasgow, featuring talks, exhibitions, workshops, concerts, and artist commissions. This initiative highlighted Scotland's role as a key player in the international creative health movement and is part of the Jameel Arts & Health Lab's collaboration with the World Health Organization.
