New York Men’s Day Spotlights Emerging Designers at Mercedes-Benz Dealership

New York Men’s Day, the event that kicks off New York Fashion Week, was held at a Mercedes-Benz dealership in midtown Manhattan. This year's showcase included two sessions featuring up-and-coming designers. Ethan Lewy presented a collection of classic tailoring and smart shirts in vibrant hues, adorned with playful patterns like inky squiggles, faded camouflage, and painterly checks. Patrik Rzepski from Avon Anglers, a former collaborator of Jonathan Anderson in Paris, reinvented American classics with premium fabrics, including checked shirts and pleated trousers, alongside upcycled Carhartt pants and bleached tees, all crafted in New York. Other highlights included Thomas Alderink’s Ouila with draped tops and mariner stripes, Clara Son’s intricately detailed collection, and Yuchen Han’s Alieant, featuring oversized streetwear. Andy Yu’s collaboration with Korea’s first deaf K-pop band, Big Ocean, showcased an eclectic mix of British military styles and Victorian elements. The diverse presentations reflected a fragmented cultural moment in modern masculinity, mirroring the varied styles seen on New York streets.
