New York Art Book Fair Marks 20th Anniversary with 300+ Exhibitors at MoMA PS1

festival-fair · 2026-09-25

The 20th anniversary edition of the New York Art Book Fair, hosted by Printed Matter, commenced at MoMA PS1 in Queens and will continue through the weekend. More than 300 exhibitors have turned the museum into a vibrant bookstore. On the first night, guests were given plastic folders containing lenticular prints of Tweety Bird. An outdoor zine tent, located near Precious Okoyomon's sculpture, highlights themes of subversive politics and queer culture. The Book Arts Solidarity Network, represented by Jenna Hamed, Aya Krisht, and Rhonda Khalifeh, shared flyers for an upcoming publishers' meet-up and is set to release its third MAKEREADY publication, featuring contributions from artists in Gaza and South Lebanon. Hamed called the gathering 'cathartic,' underscoring the importance of cross-border collaboration.
