National Indigenous Art Fair 2026 debuts in transformed Cutaway Barangaroo

The National Indigenous Art Fair (NIAF) will take place from July 3 to 5, 2026, at The Cutaway Barangaroo in Sydney, marking the venue's inaugural event following significant renovations. This fair, organized by First Hand Solutions Aboriginal Corporation and backed by the NSW Government, stands as the largest showcase of First Nations art and culture in the area. Artworks will be available for purchase, ranging from $100 to $30,000, directly from artists representing remote community-owned art centres in the Northern Territory, South Australia, Queensland, and Western Australia. Aligning with NAIDOC Week, the event features thirty Indigenous art centres, including Merrepen and Jilamara Arts and Craft. Notably, 100% of profits support the art centres, with no fees deducted. Highlights include pieces by various artists such as Kieren Karritpul and Karen Rogers. CEO Peter Cooley highlighted the fair's importance in connecting isolated artists with opportunities for sales, workshops, and discussions. Additionally, Art Almanac is providing ten tickets to its subscribers.
