Museum of Life and Science Hosts Engineers Day Event Featuring Women in Engineering

The Museum of Life and Science recently held its annual Engineers Day event, highlighting women's contributions in engineering. Activities included circuitry workshops led by electrical engineer Kendra Settles from Siemens, rocket launches by the NC High Powered Rocketry Club, demonstrations by Splat Space tinkerers, and a quantum computing workshop conducted by Women in Electrical and Computer Engineering from NC State with support from the Quantum Computing Club. The event also featured an egg drop challenge where participants designed protective vessels using recycled materials. The museum emphasized the underrepresentation of women in engineering, noting they comprise only 16.7% of professionals in the field in the United States.
