Museum of Life and Science Hosts Bird Bonanza Event for World Migratory Bird Day

The Museum of Life and Science organized a Bird Bonanza event on May 11, coinciding with World Migratory Bird Day, as part of its Spring into Action series. The activity involved park naturalist Ranger Greg assisting participants in bird spotting using a checklist, resulting in sightings of 36 bird species, including 10 migratory types such as the Tree Swallow. Experts from New Hope Audubon and Durham County Master Gardeners provided guidance on supporting bird populations through insect-friendly gardening and conservation practices. The event highlights the museum's focus on ecological awareness and community engagement in natural science.
