Museo del Tessuto di Prato launches Videomostre, online video archive of past exhibitions

The Museo del Tessuto di Prato has launched Videomostre, a digital project that transforms past exhibitions into online videos. Director Filippo Guarini explains that the initiative aims to extend the life of temporary shows and reach broader audiences. The videos, available for rent at €3 for two months via the museum's online shop, are not simple walkthroughs but mini-documentaries featuring curators' voices, object images, and installation views. The debut selection includes three exhibitions from 2022–2024: "Mr & Mrs Clark. Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell," "Kimono. Riflessi d’arte tra Giappone e Occidente," and "Walter Albini. Il talento, lo stilista." Guarini notes that the museum's digital strategy also includes a growing online shop and educational courses, which have sold out quickly. The project is experimental, with a cultural rather than commercial goal: to build an accessible archive and complement physical visits.
