Montreal Artist Launches Collaborative Platform for Human-Created Art Disclaimers

Ori Peer, a filmmaker and 3D animator based in Montreal, initiated a community-driven project titled 'This Film Was Made Without AI' after facing accusations of using artificial intelligence in his work at a Vancouver film festival. The project serves as an open call for artists to design animated disclaimers that verify their creations are produced without generative AI tools. Over 100 contributors have participated, submitting diverse visual interpretations, including felt, paper, and 3D renderings, often accompanied by making-of videos to document the artistic process. The platform, which is public-domain, has inspired artists globally, such as a 14-year-old filmmaker from the UK, and aligns with Peer's ongoing work on an animated feature film called '40k Daddy'.
