Monopol Gives Away Tickets for International Literature Festival Berlin

The German art magazine Monopol is giving away tickets for two events at the International Literature Festival Berlin (ilb) in September. The festival, held annually in Berlin for over 25 years, brings together literature, art, and performance. On September 5 at 8:45 PM, US author Dave Eggers will present his new novel 'Contrapposto' at the Berliner Festspiele. The novel explores friendship, love, and the business of creativity, set in the art world. Eggers, known for founding a publishing house and co-founding the literary magazine 'The Believer', gained fame with 'The Circle', a bestseller about the tech world. The title 'Contrapposto' refers to a classical pose in sculpture where weight is shifted onto one leg, but the story is less stable. Anne-Dore Krohn will moderate, and Ulrich Matthes will read German passages. On September 11 at 6 PM, poet and dancer Tishani Doshi and Japanese avant-garde dancer Natsuko Kono will perform 'Movement is the Message', a collaborative piece exploring the shared vulnerability of poetry and dance.
