Milk of Lime Debuts ASHES Collection at Berlin Fashion Week

festival-fair · 2026-07-12

On July 4th, 2026, Milk of Lime presented their Spring/Summer 2027 collection, ASHES, at Berlin Fashion Week, marking their return after winning the Berlin Contemporary contest. The Belgo-German design duo Julia Ballardt and Nico Verhaegen showcased a collection that balanced destruction and rebirth through a palette of greys, blacks, earth tones, ashy mauves, and phosphoric red. The runway featured draped menswear, innovative knitwear with ripped silk ribbons, feathered polka dots under mesh, and Fortuny-esque crinkled silk shirts. Accessories included leather goods with raw edges, slouchy handbags, and specialized cases holding pencils, alongside asymmetric jewelry with smoky quartz, black tourmaline, and palo santo pearls. The presentation was accompanied by a live drone-like soundtrack from Belgian musician Innerwoud. Photographer Shin Jeong Hoon captured backstage images documenting the collection's textures and details. The brand continues to emphasize local craftsmanship from its base in southwest Germany.
