Miles Davis Centennial Tribute at Salle Cortot Blends Opera and Jazz
The 100th anniversary of Miles Davis's birth is marked by a concert at Salle Cortot that merges classical music and jazz. Grandes Voix d'Opéra d'Afrique and their guests perform an unprecedented program centered on voice, piano, and bass, reinterpreting Davis's jazz universe alongside works by classical composers who influenced him. Davis's jazz standards, now recognized far beyond their original musical context, are reexamined as part of the contemporary classical repertoire. The event also includes an expo-sale of original photographs titled "Les légendes du Jazz" by photographer Hervé Saint Helier. The exhibition is free to visit on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 3pm to 6pm, and Saturday, September 26, 2026, from 3pm to 9:30pm. The full program is available on the Salle Cortot website. The event is a partner of Club Artistik Rezo, as announced in a press release.
