Marcos Morau's 'La mort i la primavera' premieres at FOG Triennale Milano Performing Arts Fest

Marcos Morau's theatrical production 'La mort i la primavera' premiered as part of the ninth edition of FOG – Triennale Milano Performing Arts Fest on March 21 and 22. The work adapts Mercè Rodoreda's novel of the same name, creating a dark, oppressive atmosphere with minimal lighting and smoky fog. Corpses appear in black garbage bags stacked on a red van that repeatedly enters the stage, while other bodies descend from above. A solemn pipe organ music contrasts with machine gun fire and deep drum beats, suggesting wartime violence. A silent Revox reel-to-reel recorder hangs imposingly from the ceiling. The production explores themes of death and survival under oppression, with dry branches and dark earth suggesting a subterranean river. The performance was one of the most anticipated events of the festival.
