MAIF Social Club Celebrates 10 Years with Festive Cabin and Performances

The MAIF Social Club in Paris's Marais district is marking its tenth anniversary with a weekend of free events from September 4 to 6, 2026. The venue, known for its free exhibitions on social themes and its library, café, and performance space, will collaborate with the Les Traversées du Marais festival to build a large communal cabin without doors or partitions, inspired by American philosopher Henry David Thoreau. The construction will be accompanied by performances, readings, and shows, including a drag show by collectif Les Paillettes on Friday at 6:30 PM, a cello performance by Clara Germont on Saturday at 11 AM, and storytelling sessions by Florence Desnouveaux and Violaine Robert at 6 PM. Sunday features performed readings by actors from the Jeune théâtre national at 12:30 PM and a drum solo by Xavier Fassion at 5 PM. Later, on October 17, the club will open a new thematic exhibition titled "Semons nos résistances," featuring fifteen contemporary artists including Tiphaine Calmettes, Nicolas Daubanes, Marie-Claire Messouma Manlanbien, and François Réau, exploring current forms of resistance.
