Madrid's +LATINA Festival Returns for 2026 with Brazil as Guest Country
Spain's inaugural multidisciplinary 'liquid' festival, +LATINA, dedicated to contemporary art from the Americas, is set to occur in Madrid from September to November 2026, following its 'Edición CERO' in 2025. The festival will revolve around the curatorial theme 'Lo que aún no se ve' (What is not yet seen), delving into topics such as Neocolonialism, New Memories, and Emerging Systems of Coexistence. Brazil will be the first featured country, showcasing artists like Marilia Bonás and Aly Orellana. The event will include +EXPOSICIONES, +RESIDENCIAS, and +SABERES at venues like Museo de América and Instituto de México en España. Kiki Pertiñez Heidenreich emphasized the festival's importance in strengthening transatlantic connections. Organized by Boom! Art Community and BCI, +LATINA aims to redefine cultural events.
