Macarena Hott Recondo Brings Chilean Metalwork and Memory to Parcours Bijoux in Paris
Chilean-born jeweller Macarena Hott Recondo joins a collective of Chilean women creators occupying Galerie Artivistas, a South American cultural venue in Paris, for the October 2026 edition of Parcours Bijoux, the French capital's celebration of contemporary jewellery. Copper, resin, wool and organza feature among the unexpected materials the group works with, fusing Chilean tradition and contemporary practice. Raised in Chile's Lake District near Patagonia, Hott Recondo studied fine arts at the University of Montpellier before turning to craft training: a CAP in jewellery in 2001, followed by a BMA in art of jewellery and gemstone in Marseille. She launched a commercial costume jewellery brand in 2007, then spent five years in a Toulouse luxury manufacturing workshop before returning to Provence, where she opened a shared boutique with other women designers. Her practice, spanning jewellery and micro-sculptures, rests on prolonged experimentation and the acceptance of error as a source of discovery. She founded the atelier Maca H Bijoux. "I love the idea of thinking about beauty," she says, describing her work as her grain of sand in the world. Her pieces, she adds, should surprise returning clients. Hott Recondo describes herself as privileged to create from modest, inexpensive materials.
