Lewis Capaldi closes TRNSMT 2025 with emotional return after mental health struggles

The last day of TRNSMT 2025 at Glasgow Green saw Lewis Capaldi return to the stage after a two-year hiatus due to mental health issues. He candidly mentioned having experienced a “complete and utter mental health breakdown” since his last gig in 2022, which got a surprisingly ironic cheer from fans. Revitalized, he performed hits like Bruises, Something In The Heavens, and Someone You Loved, plus a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival's Have You Ever Seen The Rain?. He recognized Susan Boyle in the crowd and announced plans for a new album after summer. The festival ended with fireworks. Other performers included Perrie Edwards, CMAT, Amy Macdonald, and Kerr Mercer, who kicked off the main stage. CMAT got the audience moving and spoke against body-shaming, while Edwards called the Scottish crowd "rowdy" during her Little Mix medley. Some technical issues affected Skye Newman and Biird's sets. Police Scotland reported 11 arrests in the first two days, including one for a drone incident. After the music, around 10,000 fans gathered in the fan zone for the Scotland vs Morocco match.
