Lee Broom's 'Chant' Lighting Installation Debuts at London Design Festival 2026

British designer Lee Broom presents 'The Chant Chambers', a new installation for London Design Festival 2026, expanding his portable lighting piece 'Chant' into a comprehensive collection. The installation, on view at 91, 93, and 95 Rivington Street in Shoreditch from 15–20 September 2026, features oversized chandeliers, sculptural wall lights, linear pendants, and architectural lighting structures. Broom, who recently illuminated Madonna's 'Confessions II' film, notes that 'Chant' is based on a pure form—a glass cube with a circular indentation—allowing for repetition, scale, and varied configurations. The collection introduces a new smoked glass finish, echoing 1970s interiors, which Broom admires for their sculptural quality and masculine sensibility. He draws on the glass block's historical references from the Art Deco period and its re-emergence in the late 1970s and early 1980s, filtered through a modernist lens. Broom emphasizes the emotional impact of the pieces, aiming to create a hypnotic, transporting experience. The installation is open to the public during the festival.
