Lazy Susan, the reigning champion of Drag Race Down Under, is seizing the opportunity presented by the first season of Drag Race Down Under vs The World, set to debut on 24 July on Stan, to reshape how Australian drag is viewed globally. She believes that the country's drag history, referencing 1994's The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and Courtney Act, is frequently neglected. This new competition features queens from both Australia and New Zealand facing off against international rivals, with judges Michelle Visage and Rhys Nicholson. Lazy Susan has openly invited Bob the Drag Queen, a prominent critic of the Down Under series, to reconsider the show; Bob's team has indicated plans to discuss this on his podcast. While acknowledging previous critiques regarding production quality, she defends the show's grassroots essence, emphasizing that many drag artists perform on smaller stages. She also points out the diversity of the Down Under participants, such as Nikita Iman's Samoan drag and Flor, the first Guatemalan queen in the franchise. Additionally, Lazy Susan is working on a horror film titled Skin Side Up, which secured the Frontières 'Proof of Concept' Platform at Cannes 2025, and co-created The Witchy Girls, a web series that was funded through crowdfunding after facing traditional funding rejections.
