La Scala's Streaming Platform LaScalaTV Drops Paywall, Goes Free

Starting Tuesday, 1 September, Teatro alla Scala's streaming service, LaScalaTV, will be accessible for free after a straightforward registration process, thanks to Principal Sponsor Intesa Sanpaolo. Introduced in 2023, the platform boasts nine cameras to deliver high-quality live performances of opera, ballet, and concerts. Its extensive library features 31 recent operas, 13 classic recordings, 8 ballets, 26 concerts, and educational materials, including historic recordings from Rai. This effort is designed to boost audience involvement, reflecting the Fondazione Teatro alla Scala's dedication to musical education. On 1 September, new offerings will include Gassmann's L'opera seria and Mozart's Requiem, with future titles such as Schönberg's Gurre-Lieder and Götterdämmerung.
