La Feria Returns for Third Edition at NYU with 46 Exhibitors
On Saturday, October 3, La Feria, a one-day media and print fair organized by The Latinx Project at New York University, took place for the third time. This event featured 46 exhibitors who presented an array of zines, academic publications, textiles, and prints, with some creations even made live during the event. While there’s no cost for the tables, artists are required to apply, which encourages both accessibility and creativity, connecting publishers with artists. Essye Klempner, from the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts' Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop, showcased works by staff and participants, like Shellyne Rodriguez, Belinda Lee Medina, and Moses Ros. She shared with Hyperallergic that the exhibit represented the vibrant community within the workshop, emphasizing the importance of Latinx/e art in today’s narrative.
