Kyle Lamond Designs Visual Identity for 2021 Architecture Fringe Festival

festival-fair · 2026-03-30

Graphic designer Kyle Lamond has created the branding and visual identity for the 2021 Architecture Fringe festival. The festival, which began in 2016, has grown significantly over the years, with the 2017 edition featuring contributions from approximately 260 participants across 50 projects in 37 different venues. By 2018, the event expanded its geographical reach and diversity of programming. Throughout its history, the festival has presented various artistic works, exhibitions, discussions, environmental installations, community building projects, and educational programs. The 2021 iteration focuses on the concepts of illumination, darkness, and mirroring, organizing events around these three thematic areas. Lamond's design system emphasizes adaptability across multiple formats and settings, employing bold typographic elements, printing methods, animated graphics, and a restrained color scheme that directly corresponds to the festival's thematic divisions. This project represents Lamond's graduation work from his Bachelor of Design degree in Graphic Design.
