Kévin Germanier's beaded poster marks 60th Montreux Jazz Festival

Kévin Germanier, a Swiss fashion designer, designed the official poster for the 60th Montreux Jazz Festival, incorporating over 60,000 beads and sequins made from glass, wood, and plastic, all meticulously embroidered onto a velvet canvas. This vibrant, abstract artwork was created by a team of six artisans and draws inspiration from the festival's tradition of non-literal posters. Germanier expressed, "Music isn't just a saxophone or a guitar – it's a feeling." Scheduled to take place from July 3 to 18, 2026, at the revamped Montreux Music & Convention Center by Lake Geneva, the festival will showcase 700 concerts featuring artists like PinkPantheress, Loyle Carner, and Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Founded in 1967 by Claude Nobs, it has been directed by Mathieu Jaton since 2013. Additionally, Swiss-Iranian photographer Anoush Abrar published a monograph, 'The Elegance of Time,' highlighting key figures from past festivals. Notable past poster artists include Keith Haring, Andy Warhol, and David Bowie.
