Kanye West, now known as Ye, performed two sold-out shows in Los Angeles this week, marking a potential comeback after years of controversy. The 48-year-old artist played at SoFi Stadium, with Friday's concert drawing over 70,000 attendees. This was his first major U.S. performance in nearly five years. During the event, he was joined by musician Lauryn Hill, with whom he performed their 2004 collaboration "All Falls Down" on a distinctive hemispherical stage. Other performers included Travis Scott, CeeLo Green, and his daughter North West. The stage design featured visual elements depicting a moon, a rotating Earth, and a smoking sphere throughout the more than two-hour performance. In recent years, Ye faced significant backlash for antisemitic statements, including releasing a song titled "Heil Hitler" in 2025 and promoting merchandise featuring a swastika. He has since attempted to repair his reputation, visiting a rabbi in New York last November and publishing a full-page apology in the Wall Street Journal two months ago. In the apology, he attributed his behavior to bipolar disorder while expressing remorse. Some fans at the concerts indicated they separate his personal views from his music and were willing to forgive him following his public apology.
