Kanye West barred from UK entry over antisemitic remarks, London festival cancelled

The UK government has denied entry to Kanye West, preventing his scheduled headline performances at London's Wireless Festival from July 10 to 12, 2026. British Home Office officials stated his presence would not serve the public interest, citing a pattern of antisemitic statements made over the past year. This decision followed national debate, with Labour Prime Minister Keir Starmer calling West's potential appearance deeply concerning, while the Conservative Party pushed for the ban. The festival was cancelled outright after sponsors like Pepsi withdrew support. West recently attempted a comeback with North American concerts following his album Bully, but his history includes releasing songs with Hitler samples and Nazi apologies, selling swastika merchandise on Shopify, and placing a full-page apology in The Wall Street Journal in January 2026. He attributed past behavior to a late bipolar diagnosis. The British Campaign Against Antisemitism praised the entry denial. Last July, Australia also barred West over his song "Heil Hitler," removed from Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube. He is scheduled for a concert in Reggio Emilia, Italy, on July 18, 2026, though local officials distanced themselves from his views.
