Jungkunst Marks 20th Edition in Winterthur with 22 Emerging Swiss Artists
The 20th edition of Jungkunst showcases 22 artists born between 1995 and 2005 at Winterthur's Halle 710, chosen from a pool of over 350 applicants. This four-day event, which began in 2006, has taken place in the former Sulzer industrial warehouse for its past three iterations. Artists submit applications via email from mid-January to mid-March, with the final selections revealed in August and September. Key themes explored include childhood memories, consumerism, digital loss, and identity, with media encompassing painting, sculpture, ceramics, and photography. A Kunstkiosk offers selected pieces for sale. The building, acquired by Winterthur in 2007, maintains its industrial aesthetic. Guided tours, performances, and a large party in May celebrate the volunteers' efforts.
