JC Murray's Isabelle Festival Blends Grief, Shark Conservation, and Glamour in Saint-Tropez

The Isabelle Festival, launched in 2024 by JC Murray, is held inside the Citadelle fortress in Saint-Tropez, blending a 16th-century backdrop with an international music lineup. Named after Murray's late mother, a marine biology graduate and shark conservation advocate, the festival supports Fundación Malpelo. Murray's inspiration also stems from his grandfather Tony Murray's legendary "Gypsy Party" dinners. The festival aims for a boutique experience with a big production, limited to thousands of attendees. Logistics are challenging: everything is moved by crane through the fortress entrance. Programming draws from Ibiza, Miami, and Berlin, with Marco Carola as a key act—Isabelle's favorite DJ. Murray wants attendees to remember the sunset, ocean, and music as a cohesive experience.
