James Band to Perform in Peccioli as Part of European Tour and Festival

The British band James is embarking on a spring tour across the United Kingdom, with plans to continue into Europe, including a performance in Peccioli, Tuscany, on July 4. This concert is organized by Il Post as part of the fourth edition of the festival Le Canzoni. The group, formed in 1982, originated in Manchester and includes founding member Jim Glennie. Initially associated with Factory Records and touring with The Smiths, James built a dedicated fan base through live shows before achieving commercial success in the 1990s with albums like their third release on Fontana Records. Their hit song 'Sit Down' became widely popular, and they have since performed globally, including tours with Neil Young and collaborations with producer Brian Eno. Vocalist Tim Booth temporarily left the band in 2002 but returned in 2007, and the group has continued to attract large audiences, with recent performances at events like Glastonbury in 2016 and 2024. Their lineup has evolved to include choirs and orchestras, as seen in a concert under the Acropolis in Athens two years ago. In Italy, their last show was in 2014, making the Peccioli event a return.
