Instagram Now Lets Users Swap Audio on Posts Without Deletion

Instagram has introduced a feature allowing users to replace the audio on a post or carousel without deleting it. Previously, changing music required removing the entire post along with its likes and comments. Now users tap the three dots, select edit, and swap the audio. Posts without music can also be updated. Instagram creator product marketing head Jimmy O’Keefe confirmed that changing audio does not boost visibility. The update follows other recent customization options, including rearranging profile grid photos and writing individual captions on carousel posts. Instagram also allows editing Stories after posting. These changes aim to appeal to professional creators with large followings. The feature rollout comes after Instagram briefly tested an AI image generator using its Muse model that could create images from any public profile, which was quickly reversed due to user confusion.
