Imagen Launches Intelligent Studio, an AI Photo Editing Workspace Rolling Out September 29

digital · 2026-09-29

On September 29, Imagen will introduce Intelligent Studio for current users, enabling photographers to organize, edit, and select images in any sequence. This update features a manual editing tool, AI-assisted culling, and a multi-step editing Assistant. Users can process images while uploading and access a variety of editing options. The platform supports JPEG, TIFF, and RAW files, with export options including JPEG, PNG, or TIFF. AI Profiles evaluate images for personalized adjustments based on user edits or preferences from renowned photographers. AI Filters can detect wedding moments and work in conjunction with ratings or labels. Testing 668 images took roughly an hour, resulting in 138 selected photos. Pricing begins at $7 monthly, with usage-based fees or a flat rate for the Limitless plan.

Key facts

  • Intelligent Studio begins rolling out to existing Imagen customers on September 29 within the existing product, requiring no separate download or new account.
  • The workspace includes a manual editor with white balance, exposure, contrast, highlights, shadows, texture, clarity, vibrance, saturation, RGB and parametric curves, HSL, point color, color grading, sharpening, noise reduction, lens corrections, geometry, vignette, film grain, and calibration.
  • An Assistant carries out multi-step edits from plain-language instructions and can apply a manual correction from one photograph across a batch while each image retains its own starting point.
  • AI Filters detect wedding moments including ceremonies, receptions, and portraits, plus closed eyes, blurry or out-of-focus images, and low exposure.
  • Sarah Edmunds's AI Profile "Love & Light" adjusts skin tones and white balance, warms nighttime images, cools studio images, lifts shadows, reduces highlights, and shifts reds toward magenta.
  • AI Profile edits and AI tools can be downloaded to Lightroom Classic, Bridge, Photoshop, or Camera Raw as XMP files, but manual Intelligent Studio adjustments stay in Imagen.
  • A test folder of 668 images took about an hour from upload to final gallery and selected 138 keepers.
  • Pay-as-you-go pricing starts at $7 per month with usage-based charges, while the Limitless plan uses a flat monthly rate; charges are based on exported photographs rather than each AI action.
