Hungarian State Railway's Digital Platform Redesigned with Comprehensive Brand Guidelines
MÁV, the Hungarian State Railway company, collaborated with its advertising agency Lounge Design to commission Dot Creative for a redesign of its online ticket sales platform for passenger transportation. The project involved reimagining the entire user experience, with a focus on creating a consistent, unique, and modern digital interface. A key component was the development of a 48-page brand guideline document to systematize fundamental principles and practical applications, utilizing the Atomic Design methodology to establish a structured design system with explicit order and hierarchy. The redesign incorporated modular illustrations to simplify complex user flows, featuring flexible elements that can be adjusted to convey specific messages. Additionally, a custom icon set was created as part of the branding system, designed with responsive features to ensure legibility across various sizes. The creative team included Creative Director Vince Pataky, Head of Art Daniel Búzás, and project management by Kata Széll and Tamás Stephen, with contributions from UX designers Dóra Melher and Tamás Stephen, design system developers Tünde Molnár and Lajos Csutorás, UI designers Dóra Melher, Tünde Molnár, Lajos Csutorás, Péter Bódis, Márk Tóth, and Péter Váradi, and illustration and icon design by Tünde Molnár and Dóra Melher. This initiative aims to enhance the digital branding and user experience for multiple target groups, providing a secure and clear visual environment. The project was documented online, with further details available at dotcreative.hu.
