Holi Festival Celebration at Pier 57 Features Cultural Activities and Workshops

The Rubin Museum is hosting a Holi Family Celebration at Pier 57 in partnership with The Culture Tree. This free event offers an afternoon of cultural activities centered on the Hindu festival of Holi, which marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the victory of good over evil. The celebration includes educational presentations, bilingual story time, art workshops, and dance performances. Anu Sehgal, founder and president of The Culture Tree, will lead sessions on the meaning of Holi and host a bilingual reading of her book 'Kahaani Rangeeli.' The event schedule features a mindfulness meditation, art-making activities titled 'Spectacular Shades of Spring,' drum performances, and dance workshops. Activities will be held in the Daffodil and Seahorse classrooms on the main level of Pier 57, with entry between Google and City Winery. The Culture Tree specializes in South Asian educational programs that foster cultural connections for children and families. The Rubin Museum, known for its Himalayan art collection and cultural initiatives, organizes this event as part of its broader mission to promote awareness of diverse artistic traditions.
