Hamburg Triennale Explores Love, Alliance, and Photography's Future
The ninth Triennale der Photographie in Hamburg, under the direction of Mark Sealy, is themed 'Alliance. Infinity. Love.' and spans eleven venues. A highlight is the homage to Rotimi Fani-Kayode, whose surreal photographs delve into themes of desire and suffering. Eikō Hosoe's series 'Killed by Roses' features Yukio Mishima, while Arlene Gottfried's 'Midnight' captures a New York artist. Among the ten satellite exhibitions are Franki Raffles at Museum der Arbeit and Melike Kara at Kunsthaus Hamburg. F.C. Gundlach's pieces are displayed at Bucerius Kunst Forum and Haus der Photographie, alongside 'Inner Mornings, or Forms of Counterculture' at Sammlung Falckenberg. At the early June opening, Hamburg’s cultural senator Carsten Brosda highlighted the significance of photography in today's digital landscape.
