Guy Régis Junior's 'Quel dernier grand conflit' Staged at Avignon Festival

On July 19, 2026, at the Avignon Festival, a dramatic reading of Guy Régis Junior's 'Quel dernier grand conflit pour assouvir la haine entre les humains' was performed, featuring actors Raphaël Arhie and Mamadou Sall. The event was part of the 'Ça va, ça va le monde !' cycle, conceived by Pascal Paradou and directed by Armel Roussel, with sound design by Pierre-Alexandre Lampert. The reading involved students from the École du Nord, including Lysandre Akmese-Euillet, Louna Giriat, and others. Guy Régis Junior, a Haitian writer and translator, has been developing this theatrical project since 2008, exploring human conflict, hatred, and destruction. His work aims to transform theater into an Agora for exchange and listening. The production was a coproduction of RFI and Compagnie [e]utopia, with support from the Institut français, SACD, Wallonie-Bruxelles International, and the École du Nord.
