From September 24 to 27, 2026, the fifth edition of Guadalajara Art Week took place, positioning the city as a center for culture. The event showcased Estación Material, established by Brett Shultz, at a repurposed funeral home known as Plataforma. Eighteen galleries participated, introducing a hosting committee and Mexico's inaugural acquisitions committee, modeled after Argentina's Arteba. The Fundación Museo Reina Sofía acquired Naomi Rincón Gallardo's Heavy Blood (2018) from Peana, while the Saint Louis Art Museum bought two pieces by Julia Rometti. A new fair called Días Feriados launched at the Santa Teresa convent, focusing on emerging artists. Sales varied, with Palma achieving the highest sales for Julieta Beltrán's works.
