Glass House Summer Party 2026 Blends Art, Design, and Performance in New Canaan

The Glass House in New Canaan, Connecticut, hosted its annual summer fundraiser on June 2026, drawing patrons of art and design to Philip Johnson's 49-acre estate. The event featured a one-day installation replacing historic furnishings with works by Dozie Kanu alongside modernist pieces by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Lilly Reich, and Johnson. Knoll served as presenting sponsor, showcasing Richard Schultz's 1966 outdoor collection. Max Mara returned as a partner, transforming a corner into an Italian café with Piaggio carts. Performances curated by Saint Heron, Solange Knowles's platform, included Malcolm J. Merriweather, Voices of Harlem, pianist Artina McCain, and choreography by Kyle Abraham, centered on Mary Lou Williams's spiritual compositions. Musician Gio Escobar of Standing On The Corner provided an atmospheric soundtrack. The party coincided with the exhibition "Tomashi Jackson and Robert Rauschenberg: The Catch One" in the site's art bunker, featuring new works by Jackson alongside pieces from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. A silent auction on Artsy offered works by Tomashi Jackson, Sam Moyer, Hayal Pozanti, Diango Hernández, and a limited-edition photograph by Dozie Kanu. Guests enjoyed picnic baskets from New Canaan restaurant Elm, rosé, and craft cocktails.
