FYJA 2026 Student Competition Evaluates 66 Proposals Redefining Mexican Gardens
The FYJA Flowers and Gardens Festival is currently reviewing 66 student proposals from 22 institutions for its 2026 competition focused on reimagining Mexican gardens as cultural, ecological and social spaces. A jury including Ana Julia Carvajal, Andrea Rodríguez Figueroa, Delfín Montañana, Fabiola Pastor and Hugo Sánchez will select projects that articulate thoughtful approaches to contemporary landscape design. The winning team will receive 40,000 MXN prize money plus up to 40,000 MXN for implementation, with their interactive 50 m² garden featured at the festival from April 30 to May 3, 2026 in Parque América. This competition represents FYJA's commitment to emerging talent and transforming how landscapes are conceived in Mexico.
