Fuori Programma Festival at Teatro India: Body as Magmatic Force

festival-fair · 2026-06-17

The 11th edition of Fuori Programma Festival returns to Teatro India in Rome, running from July 4 to 10, 2026, with a focus on the body as an affective, expanded power. Curated by Valentina Marini, the program includes international choreographies, world premieres, and participatory workshops. On July 4, the opening features the world premiere of Ilyes Triki's 'Between the Lines,' exploring invisible scars of modern life; the Italian premiere of Hamdi Dridi's 'Soul(s) Power,' blending music and urban dance; and the Italian premiere of David Zagari's 'Le Piquet,' investigating gravity and the body. July 5 presents four projects: Roberto Tedesco's 'Triple Trip' preview for Spellbound Contemporary Ballet; 'Waterkind' by Land Before Time (Joanna Holewa Chrona and Yared Tilahun Cederlund), combining choreography, deejaying, and freestyle without physical contact; Mauro Astolfi's 'Ghostland' preview; and 'This is a Premiere' by Cristiana Morganti & Emanuele Soavi, reflecting on courage and artistic survival. The festival also includes Urban Explorations on June 22 and 24, a workshop 'Lo sguardo performativo' by Teatro e critica (applications due June 20), a workshop-audition 'Forget Diplomacy' by Irene Russolillo, and the interactive multimedia installation 'Eco' by students of the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Roma, open from July 4 to 10.
